Willmar, Minnesota – March 19 , 2026
Officials from the city of Willmar, Minnesota have announced impressive results destroying per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, from a pilot test on landfill leachate using Enspired Solutions’ PFASigator® in collaboration with environmental services company ECT2. After the PFAS was captured and concentrated by ECT2, the city said Enspired Solutions’ patented technology was able to destroy more than 99-percent of the PFAS, calling the results “very encouraging.”
PFAS, which have been linked to various health issues including cancer and infertility, have been widely used for more than a half century in common products like cosmetics, non-stick cookware and firefighting foam. The chemicals’ bonds are so strong they don’t break down naturally, making the compounds ubiquitous in the environment, particularly in landfills and municipal water systems.
